From the Presidential Palace of Delhi, to savouring the scents of spice navigating the busy streets of Old Delhi. India is beautiful beyond any words I could describe. From Delhi to Agra to embrace the evening and sunrise over the Taj Mahal was a dream come true. Onto Ranthambore the former private hunting grounds of the maharajahs, peppered with palatial ruins and traditional Chhatri.
Already feeling rewarded it was onwards to the pink city of Jaipur where my Father’s Family hails from was an experience so uplifting and nourishing for the soul. Relished visits to the UNESCO-listed Amber Fort and the pink facades of the Palace of Winds.
I then flew from Jaipur to Udaipur to relax in this beautiful white city, home to the former royal residence of Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur – floating out on romantic Lake Pichola.
This trip was also an opportunity to seek out the foundations in the ancient science of Ayurveda. Stemming from the Sanskrit words “ayur” (life) and “veda” (knowledge), the ancient medical system of Ayurveda translates into knowledge of life.
